This special occasion was marked with a gala event held at the prestigious Fox Harbour Golf and Spa resort in Nova Scotia where employees and valued clients gathered to reflect on the past 30 years of Ocean's success and look forward to another 30 years of continued success.

Our company has come a long way since its modest beginning in 1974 as a small asphalt paving operation founded in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Through strong leadership and continual devotion to its valued employees and clients, Ocean Contractors has become a driving force in today's sophisticated and competitive marketplace for asphalt paving and concrete construction. Operated with excellence and experience, Ocean's history has been built on a vision of quality in product and service.

A solid foundation in ready mix concrete
|
In 1980, Ocean entered the ready mix concrete market. In order to continually provide a reliable source of concrete, Ocean purchased the necessary equipment and commenced its own ready mix concrete plant in Dartmouth in 1982. In 1984, a second concrete plant was established in Halifax. Within four years, Ocean was one of the major suppliers of ready mix concrete in the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM). Soon after, Ocean entered the residential concrete foundation business, specializing in custom built homes.

Looking to the future
|
Today, Ocean employs more than 250 people and has completed projects ranging from residential foundations and street construction to providing the ready mix concrete supply for many prominent buildings and structures in HRM. Just as in 1974, Ocean continues to look to the future while adhering to its bottom line commitment to quality.
